Frequently Asked Questions

A: I started my career in the late 1990s as a buyer for a mid-size manufacturing company. I built websites for fun in my spare time and when the VP learned about this, he asked me to take on additional responsibilities by managing the company website, content, and marketing.

After a few years, I left that job to pursue my passion for content marketing, copywriting, and SEO. I worked for several Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) companies and helped increase their lead generation and sales. I then turned my attention back to my passion for writing professional content for manufacturing companies.

A: In addition to having over 15+ years of combined manufacturing and writing experience, I also have a very strong SEO background. While I do not offer SEO services (e.g., link building) as such, I do incorporate best practices when it comes to writing content that’s intended first for human beings and second for the search engines (Google).

Unlike the vast majority of other writers, I can also optimize an existing product (or other) page on your website. For example, let’s say that you manufacture widgets and your “blue widget” page only has 50 words of content and one image—that’s not good from an SEO perspective and it’s atrocious from a user experience perspective.

I would interview your internal subject matter experts (if required) and then craft additional content that’s optimized for both conversions and the search engines. The new content would lead with a compelling headline, strong value proposition, and could also include features, benefits, images (client-supplied or stock), FAQs, important keywords, tables/charts, and other elements to greatly improve the strength of this former thin content product web page.

A: I do not outsource my work. This approach give me complete control over the quality and consistency of the work I deliver.

A: While I can easily perform research and write excellent content, interviewing one of your internal subject matter experts will only serve to enhance and elevate the quality.

A: I offer two reasonable revisions if the first draft misses the mark. I will take your constructive feedback and incorporate it into the rewrite.

A: I’m born, raised, and based in the U.S.

A: The name “Lede Time Copywriting” incorporates a clever play on words that merges “lead time,” a vital manufacturing concept, with “lede,” a journalism term associated with attention-grabbing introductions. The name signifies my ability to deliver timely and compelling copywriting services to my manufacturing clients.

A: My standard lead time is 5 business days. I will deliver regularly recurring monthly work as per our agreed arrangement. One-off projects may take anywhere from 2 to 3+ weeks (depending on scope and my existing workload). If something is “911 RUSH,” please let me know as early as possible and I will let you know if I can accommodate.
